Islamic Architecture And Its Influences
After the Mongolian conquests in the 1200s, hints of Islamic architecture began to show up around the Mongolian empire. China, for example, had Turkish and Mongolian aspects in their buildings. Because of Genghis Khan's conquests and the way the empire was set up, the styles of the Middle East were spread throughout Asia, eventually reaching China. On the other pages of this site you will find a brief background of the Mongolian Empire. In addition, there is an overview of Turkish, Mongolian, and Chinese architecture between the 10th and 13th centuries, with comparisons made between the Islamic elements of each.
